'Steam Properties' uses curve fit analysis to determine the best fit equations for different saturated steam properties. Calculated values can be off by as much as 5%, care must be taken in using this data for engineering calculations. For precise values, steam tables must always be consulted. These equations are valid from 212° F to 720° F

Examples
At atmospheric pressure water boils at 212° F. Note that pressure is not in absolute, but gage. This means pressure on the coastline is 0 PSIg. At 500° F saturated steam has a pressure of 665.3 PSIg. The calculation is off by less than 5%, but close enough as an estimate.
