Help
Calculate the area of cubes, boxes, cones, spheres, and cylinders. Inputs and results are in any available volume unit. For results, select the row and choose an alternative unit type.
Cube
A square-shaped object where all sides are the same length.
- Side: Length of one side of the cube
Box
A square-shaped object where all sides are not the same length.
- Length: Length of a box
- Width: Width of a box
- Height: Height of a box
Cone
A circular, flat bottom with sides that culminate in a point.
- Base Radius: Radius of the base of the cone
- Height: Height of the cone
Sphere
A circular object (think ball).
- Radius: Radius of the sphere
Cylinder
A circular object with a flat top and bottom (think soup can).
- Radius: Radius of the cylinder
- Height: Height of the cylinder
Examples
How many yards of concrete will be required to fill the 3' radius by 5' tall cylindrical base of a lamppost?
In the Cylinder section:
- Radius: 3ft
- Height: 5ft
The area of the room is 5.24yd³. If the result is not in cubic yards, select the Cylinder's Volume row and choose yd³.
