Problem: Determine how close the corner of a building is to a property line.

Approach: Establish two points (A and B) on the property at a distance (A-to-B) exactly 25 feet apart such that the distance closest to AB and P is between and roughly centered between A and B. Measure P-to-A to be 14.750 feet. Measure P-to-B to be 17.500 feet. Solve for the perpendicular distance (P-to-LineAB) from P to Line AB to be 10.125 feet.
