Notice the rebar highlighted in red (image above), in the Length field, always enter the dimension in which the rebar will be placed lengthwise [A]. In the width field, always enter the dimension in which the rebar will be placed according to the on-center spacing [B]. Notice in the image below, the rebar highlighted in red is running the opposite direction. For this installation, the width and length is opposite from the one above.

-Type: Size of rebar to be installed on this layer.
-Total Length: Total length of the layer.
-Width: Width of the layer.
-Spacing: On-center spacing of the rebar.
-Cover: Space between the edge of the rebar and the edge of the concrete.
-Quantity: Number of areas that are this exact same size.
-Length Purchased: Length of the rebar to be purchased for this installation (20ft is typical).
-#Pieces: Number of pieces.
-Length: Length of each piece.
-#Pieces to Buy: Number of pieces to purchase.
-Total: Total linear length.
-Weight: Total weight of rebar.
-Price/Pound: Price per pound of this rebar.
-Total Cost: Total cost for the rebar.
For different layers or pad dimensions, repeat this information for Layer 2 and 3.
Examples
Calculate the number of pieces of rebar needed for an installation where two layers of rebar will be installed for 5 pads that are 13ft by 4ft 6in. #5 Rebar ($0.67 per lb) will be placed perpendicular to the longest length and #6 ($0.88 per lb) rebar will be placed in the opposite direction over this layer. All bar will be placed with 3in cover and 6in on center.
