Calculates the framing layout for a wall opening based on the measurement to the center of the opening, the size of the opening, and the amount to add to each side of the opening to accommodate the component to be installed (door, window etc.).
This template calculates up to three separate openings at a time.

Rows

1st-3rd Opening

-Opening Size: Opening size.
-To center Measure: Measurement to the center of the opening.
-+RO ea side: Length to add to each side of the opening for room to shim. This will vary based on the manufacturer and component but is typically 2".
-RO Size: Size of the rough opening.
-To 1st Jack: Measurement to the first jack in the same direction as the measurement provided to the center of the opening (see image).
-To 2nd Jack: Measurement to the second jack measured in the same direction as the measurement provided to the center of the opening (see image).
If you have additional openings, use the next fields for 2nd and 3rd opening.

Examples

Calculate the layout for a wall that has the following:
#. Door: measurement to the center of the opening is 9'8" and you are installing a 2'8" pre-hung door that will need 1&1/2" of space on each side for shimming.
#. Window: measurement to the center of the opening is 5'2" and you are installing a 4'8" window that will need 2" of space on each side for shimming.
