This template compares up to three products, reducing each to its price per unit for better comparison shopping. For each product:
- Price: product price.
- Size: size of each product. Size is ignored if it equals 0.
- Units: number of units or weight.
- Price/Unit: price per unit.
- Description: an optional field to enter a description of the product being considered.
Examples
Example 1
Product A can either be purchased for $42.95 but includes 5 bottles or is $9.99 per bottle. Which is the better deal?
Product 1:
- Price: 42.95
- Size: 0
- Units: 5
The price is $8.59 per unit for Product 1. Product 2 is $9.99 so Product 1 is a better deal.
Example 2
Product A is $4.99 for 18 ounces while Product B is $2.99 for 12 ounces. Which is the better deal?
Product 1:
- Price: 4.99
- Size: 18
- Units: 1
The price per unit for Product 1 is $0.28
Product 2:
- Price: 2.99
- Size: 12
- Units: 1
The price per unit for Product 2 is $0.25.
Product 2 is the better deal.
