Rows
-Rise: Rise in units of inches per 12 inches. For example, if the gable rises 4 inches for each 12 inches of horizontal run, enter 4.
-Highest Height: Height of the peak (measured from the base of the stud to the point it supports the ridge).
-Span: Span (full width) of the area.
-Spacing: Spacing of the studs on-center.
-#Studs: Number of studs needed for this installation.
-Difference: Common difference in height of each stud.

Stud Lengths
-Center Stud: Height of the center stud (gable).
-Stud 2-16: Height of each successive stud from center.
Examples
Calculate the number of studs that will be installed in a gable area for a roof that is 6' to the bottom of the ridge. The roof slope is 6:12 and the roof span is 24'. The studs will be placed 16" on-center.
-Rise: 6
-Highest Height: 6ft
-Span: 24ft
-Spacing: 16in o.c.
The following results are calculated:
-#Studs: 19
-Difference: 8in
-Center Stud: 6ft
-Stud 2: 5ft 4in
-Stud 3: 4ft 8in
-Stud 4: 4ft
-Stud 5: 3ft 4in
-Stud 6: 2ft 8in
-Stud 7: 2ft
-Stud 8: 1ft 4in
-Stud 9: 8in
