A simple calculator to derive crosswind component and, as an added bonus, headwind or tailwind. It does not tell you whether the crosswind is left or right - you have to determine that by inspection.

Enter runway heading and wind direction in degrees and wind speed in knots.
The calculator calculates:
- Relative Wind Angle
- Crosswind Component
and _either_
- Headwind Component; or
- Tailwind Component
Any relative wind angle above 90 degrees has some tailwind component.
I've tried to make this accurate within limits but use is entirely at your own risk!!
