Help
Calculates the wall or crown angle for crown molding trim. Also determines the needed miter and bevel angles.
Crown molding is measured inside the triangle. Measuring outside the triangle would only calculate the profile angle. The crown angle is needed to calculate the miter and bevel angles.

Rows
-Across Ceiling: Distance measured from the corner of the ceiling to the inside end point of the crown. See image.
-Down Wall: Distance measured from the corner of the wall / ceiling to the inside point of the crown molding.
-Wall Angle: In most cases, this will be 90 degrees.
-Crown Angle: Angle of the crown, typically 38 degrees. Can be entered or calculated.
-Miter Angle: Used to set the dial on the miter saw when cutting crown molding for the left side of the corner. A negative angle specifies a miter angle on the left side of center. A positive angle specifies a miter angle on the right side of center.
-Bevel Angle: Used on the saw to cut the piece of crown molding for the left side of the corner. A negative angle will represent a bevel angle on the left side of center. A positive angle specifies a bevel angle on the right side of center.
Examples
Calculate the angles to set the miter saw if you are installing crown molding that measures 2&3/4" across the ceiling and 3&5/8" down the wall. NOTE: Angle of wall is 90 degrees.
-Across Ceiling: 2&3/4in
-Down Wall: 3&5/8in
-Wall Angle: 90°
Calculates the following angles:
-Crown Angle: 37.2°
-Miter Angle: 31.1°
-Bevel Angle: 34.3°
