Help
Calculates the volume of material that will be removed or added to an area based on the amounts to be cut and/or filled. This calculation assumes an average grade.
Rows
Area
-Length: Length of the area in feet-inches (50'8") or inches (608").
-Width: Width of the area in feet-inches (25'4") or inches (304").
Cut / Fill
-Benchmark 1-4: Number of decimal feet to be added or removed at Benchmark 1 through 4. Positive numbers denote fill; negative ones denote cut.
-Volume: Volume of material required to cut or fill. A positive number denotes additional volume of material required; a negative number denotes additional volume to be removed from the area.
Examples
Calculate the cubic yards of dirt that will be added or removed from an area that is 124'6" long and 87'9" wide. The stakes are marked at the four corners with the following information:
BM 1: -3.2
BM 2: 1.5
BM 3: -2.7
BM 4: -1.92
Area
-Length: 124'6"
-Width: 87'9"
Cut/Fill
-Benchmark 1: -3.20
-Benchmark 2: 1.50
-Benchmark 3: -2.70
-Benchmark 4: -1.92
You will need to remove 639.31 cubic yards of dirt from this area.
